Yearning for Peace and Wholeness?

Feeling a very strong desire for Peace and Wholeness at the moment? The Pool of Memory Organization will be offering a retreat with me from Thursday 4th March until Sunday 7th March 2010 at Commonweal Retreat Center, Bolinas, CA.

We’ll be working on the chakras, and my form of meditation also known as LEAP (Life Energy Enhancement Process). For those who follow Ken Wilber’s work, I’ll be showing you exactly how and where my input and Ken’s theory fit very well indeed, and what that means for your development. At the same time, you don’t need to know anything about Wilber’s work for this retreat to take your intuition and personal evolution to a whole new level. Your Journey?

Today a new client, who is participating in a telegroup with me, sent me this poem. He’s a talented young man in his early 30s. He holds a demanding role in the corporate world, and is grappling very seriously with wider perspectives of spirituality and energetic development.

As we work together he, like all the group, will share further and further in the energetic calibration, and the evolutionary or personal development that accompanies it, and that members of all the groups experience.

In honor of his journey, and all our journeys, whether we use these words or different words, here’s the poem – I deeply respect the feeling behind it.

My intention be the catalyst
Leading me to source
Closely I will listen
To natures divine course
 
My journey is my own
Alone I will find
But companions I seek
For sharing in kind
 
Mindful of my thoughts
My ego does not rule
My energy does not suffer
The influence of the fool
 
Connected with Spirit I am
Deep faith be true
My potential be realized
Daily balance I do

Knowledge and Wisdom

An idea I often express when I’m teaching is on my mind now. I’ve said it many times. For example:
“I don’t see my role as just passing on knowledge. Unless you can make it part of you, unless the implications resonate with you, then I haven’t really done anything.”
Or
“It’s not the passing on of knowledge that is important, it is the way in which it becomes part of you and what you do with it.”

Striving for wisdom, is the true application of knowledge. May it be our quest today, and every day.

The Rhythm and the Balance Recording

Here’s the sound recording to go with my IntuitiveMonth posting of 24 September 09. It’s called The Rhythm and the Balance.

Remember, the ELU is like an energy pill (in Zen Buddhism they might call it a koan). The action of listening to it is designed to help you integrate its message. It’s a way of taking you closer to the meaning of the words- it does not depend on your understanding- the energy of my voice does the work.

Fulfillment, Joy and Personal Evolution

How we evolve (or devolve) into more successful, effective, fulfilled and joyful people depends on our reaction to our experiences. That is our everyday experiences, not simply peak experiences, or special events.

Our response either develops our resources and spiritual capital- so to speak- or limits, confines or reduces us to the level of our fears.(And the greater the fears the greater their power to reduce us.)

This process happens in our energy. We know it in our hearts and minds. It is how we think and feel. Our thoughts and feelings respond as if to an opportunity or a threat.

Both are necessary. But a perspective, or a default or habitual position that sees all as a threat, inevitably leads to limitation and reduction. The more one is able to see opportunity in circumstances, the greater the potential for growth. So –how to see opportunity?

That is an issue I am dealing with in the telephone groups I am working with, and will be teaching more about as the year unfolds. Read my blog and join classes or seminars when you can.

What’s Out There?

Time to remember that “things” are not necessarily the way that they seem. What you see, as well as being a function of what’s there may also relate to your past experience, your expectations, your history, your intentions, your karma or even your DNA- all of which go towards making up your perspective, or bias.

I always start workshops with a few fundamentals, including my hope that how you see “things’ will not be the same at the end of the workshop. I want you to contradict yourself by the end of the day (or week). I want you to have made a statement (to yourself or to the group) that you do not want to hold at the end. If that happens, then I know your perspective- how you see things has changed.

And change, development, even evolution is what we are aiming for.

A LONDON MEDITATION AFTERNOON with MICHAL

Sunday 20th September 2009 3-5pm

Meditating with Michal is a unique and powerful experience that can take us to places within ourselves that we would never reach alone, which can deepen our individual practise and, not least, offer the opportunity to hear Michal’s interpretation of our journeys.

For those of us who are working with IntuitiveWeek and the ELU, this meditation session will be very helpful in intensifying the effects of the ELU, and also offer a chance to discuss how best we can benefit from IntuitiveWeek and the ELU.

This session also marks the start of a new series of monthly group meditations at Essex Church, using Michal’s LEAP practice, which all those who have attended Michal’s afternoon session will be welcome to join.

The Girlfriend Experience

“The Girlfriend Experience” is the name a small group of prostitutes give to their business activities in a play at London’s Young Vic at the moment. Its been hugely celebrated, and its highly innovative. The script is drawn from verbatim recordings of conversations in a British brothel. Critics describe it as “absolutely filthy, hugely entertaining”, “wicked, guilty, down to earth pleasure”, “absorbing and hilarious.”

To me, and the 27 year old girl sitting next me, it was devastating. The punters want affection and acclaim – to be told the sex was great, they are great. They also want to know the prostitute they are paying cares about them. And with a terrible pathos, the play demonstrates the enduring nature of the female fantasy – “one day my prince will come”. Even an obese 50 year old prostitute longs for “him”, and still believe “he” will come.

So, we all want to be loved, and we damage ourselves terribly in the process of trying to obtain that love. There must be a better way – and there is.
