Here are some thoughts on energy and protection practices. I think they may have relevance right now.

“As you do more of this work, you’ll become more aware about what you can potentially take on board from other people, places and things. And sometimes you’ll need to protect yourselves.

Places and things in a way are the easiest to handle. If you find yourself in a place you can’t handle then it is easy enough to leave. If you are required to use something that you don’t like, well, it is easy enough to change that. Be sensitive to the things you do and don’t like. If there are things in your life, objects, that you don’t want, then you have the choice to say, no, I don’t need to use that, I can change it. If you don’t like your bedspread, that’s fine. Don’t say, well, it’s got plenty of wear in it yet. Feel free to say, ‘Actually it doesn’t suit me for some reason or another, and so I’m going to change it.’ The same principle applies to all the objects in your life.

People are the most difficult to deal with, because we’re talking about personal relationships. What about working out a relationship, and helping the other person? My view is that you don’t have an obligation to help. If what is being transmitted and what is being received is difficult, then you don’t have an obligation to help the other person. You always have an obligation to help if somebody asks you for help, and you feel you can offer it. But in a situation where there is a large amount of negative or difficult energy, are you obliged to stick it out until the bitter end? Are you obliged to stick with it until there is a resolution? No.

I encourage you to work with any situation as long as it feels productive, but there may be cases where you have to say, ‘Look: we can’t find a resolution here. I’m going to have to put this one down – maybe permanently, or at least for the time being.’ That’s a clear illustration of the most extreme case where you are locked in a transmit-receive situation and it is abrasive to you.

There are a lot of myths in this area of energy emissions. One of them is that everything can be worked out, that you can talk it through until you reach a resolution. But sometimes you can’t. You can always, with good will, find ways to handle a situation, but you may not necessarily be able to resolve it in the way you’d like to see it resolved. Sometimes this means that you have to let go of it.”

Why not let your spirit and your soul dream a little? You have the skills to handle your present responsibilities with relative ease. Why not let your spirit free, rather than confine it by imagined boundaries? It will repay you many times over by speaking to your dreams, and filling you heart.

Never let humility undermine your self-respect.
Never let pride obscure humility.
When in doubt, remember that you know who first to give your precious trust to – yourself.

An idea I often express when I’m teaching is on my mind now. I’ve said it many times. For example:
“I don’t see my role as just passing on knowledge. Unless you can make it part of you, unless the implications resonate with you, then I haven’t really done anything.”
Or
“It’s not the passing on of knowledge that is important, it is the way in which it becomes part of you and what you do with it.”

Striving for wisdom, is the true application of knowledge. May it be our quest today, and every day.

All I’ve heard today is doubts and questions. Of course I remember “when in doubt don’t”, but I also remember the importance of information. Its not a time to feel bad about being hesitant or confused. Its a time to relish the opportunity to collect more information and scrutinize the information you already posses. Glad to share my recipe for now – hope it is useful!
