Choosing As Above So Below.

I watch the water
And see the sky reflected.
As above so below,
Always.

Yesterday the tide
Breached the river banks,
Today the water has sunk back,
Low and rippling, as if waiting -
Is further chaos, another torrent coming?

All along the sodden river banks
Boats lie, breached, or
Hauled to safety.
Mud covers the footpath
That I walk with you,
Old issues and rotted leaves
Squelching underfoot.

I watch the water
And see the sky reflected-
As above so below,
Always.

As the light dims
The river sparkles-
I see Heaven
Shining thorough,
And choose the calm and clarity.
